On the 29th, Doosan Robotics signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Incheon International Airport Corporation at the corporation's headquarters in Jung-gu, Incheon, to establish a collaborative system for promoting digital transformation of Incheon International Airport.

With this MOU, the two companies have agreed to cooperate in ▲discovering and jointly researching new digital technologies in the robotics field of Incheon International Airport, ▲ establishing a collaborative system for testing new digital technologies, and ▲ discovering joint businesses for the digital transformation of the robotics field of Incheon International Airport.
In particular, the two companies plan to prioritize discussions on introducing baggage handling and food-tech-related solutions using collaborative robots at Incheon International Airport.
Doosan Robotics has a collaborative robot baggage handling solution capable of handling baggage weighing up to 70 kg by applying Cobot Lift's vacuum suction tube technology to its H-series collaborative robots, which have a 1.7 m arm reach and can lift up to 20 kg. Doosan Robotics plans to install the solution in the out-of-gauge cargo manning zone (OOG Manning Zone) in the duty-free area of Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport and conduct a proof of concept (PoC) within the year.

The two companies also agreed to discuss ways to operate a food zone using collaborative robots to reduce the waiting time for visitors and provide unique attractions in the food and beverage (F&B) space of Incheon International Airport.
Inwon Park, CEO of Doosan Robotics, said, "We will support Incheon International Airport, the representative gateway to Korea, to provide a higher level of service through digital transformation using collaborative robots," adding, "We will actively collaborate to become a role model for digital transformation of airports by increasing the efficiency and safety of airport operations and providing new experiences to customers."
Last year, Doosan Robotics signed an MOU with Schiphol Airport and the Danish company Cobot Lift to supply a collaborative robot baggage handling system for Schiphol Airport. Doosan Robotics has supplied 19 collaborative robot baggage handling solutions to Schiphol International Airport as of last year, and plans to introduce them to all business sites of Schiphol International Airport in stages in the future.
