Doosan Robotics has signed two further Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) in the Netherlands, and has embarked on strengthening cooperation to expand its business in the European market.
On the 14th, Doosan Robotics announced that it has signed an MOU with Schiphol International Airport in the Netherlands and Danish company Cobot Lift on the 13th (local time) for the "supply of collaborative robot baggage handling system to Schiphol Airport." The event was attended by Inwon Park, CEO of Doosan Robotics, Sybren Hahn, Director of Schiphol Airport, and Henrik Gulløv, CEO of Cobot Lift.
Doosan Robotics has developed a solution capable of handling baggage weighing up to 70 kg by applying Cobot Lift's vacuum suction tube technology to its H-series collaborative robots, which feature a 1.5 m reach and a payload capacity of up to 25 kg. It recently delivered an initial batch of 20 units to Schiphol International Airport.
The three companies have agreed to gradually introduce the solution to all workplaces at Schiphol International Airport by 2024, and to cooperate with each other to expand its application to airports and logistics centers in other regions in the future.
Doosan Robotics also signed an MOU with SAM XL, a research institute established for smart manufacturing innovation at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands, for cooperation in the design of future smart factories for innovation in the manufacturing sector in Europe.

Both companies have agreed to jointly develop smart factory collaborative robot solutions for manufacturing sites in the Netherlands and cooperate on application proposals and commercialization. SAM XL plans to develop and operate its own training program using Doosan Robotics' collaborative robots.
Inwon Park, CEO of Doosan Robotics, who attended the event, said, "The supply of the baggage handling systems is meaningful in that we have established a bridgehead for us to enter airports not only in the Netherlands but also throughout Europe," adding, "With the establishment of a European subsidiary in Germany next year, we expect to further expand our business in the European market."
Doosan Robotics, which plans to establish a European subsidiary in Germany in 2024, is considering entry into new regions, such as Central and South America and Southeast Asia. It also plans to expand overseas sales channels from the current 100 to 219 by 2026.
