  • - Prioritizes introduction in water boiling, oven, and logistics inflow processes

On the 18th, Doosan Robotics announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with LBM, a food service company that runs the London Bagel Museum, for the "joint development of robotic solutions for production processes to enhance employee health and prevent safety accidents.”

The London Bagel Museum is a bakery brand that first opened in Anguk-dong, Seoul, in 2021. It has gained popularity for its interior design, which is reminiscent of the vintage sensibility of London, and its diverse selection of bagels. It currently operates a total of six branches in Korea.
This memorandum of understanding was made to improve convenience and prevent safety accidents during the cooking process, thereby increasing the job satisfaction of employees. LBM plans to conduct a detailed analysis of production processes and identify the processes where employees are having difficulty with, while Doosan Robotics will develop customized collaborative robot solutions for those processes.

Especially they have decided to prioritize the development of collaborative robot solutions for ▲ large-capacity dough mixing process, ▲ water boiling process for boiling bagel in hot water, ▲ oven process with high work fatigue due to difficult height adjustment, which are of particular concern due to the risk of safety incidents such as musculoskeletal and respiratory diseases caused by repetitive movements and oil fumes, as well as burns, ▲ logistics inflow process that requires workers to carry more than 20kg of weight, and ▲ weighing process.

The collaborative robot solution developed by Doosan Robotics is expected to contribute to the improvement of the working environment of the London Bagel Museum Central Kitchen (centralized cooking facility) that will be newly built in the future, as well as production sites in various food and beverage (F&B) companies.

An official from Doosan Robotics said, "Doosan Robotics' collaborative robots have obtained industry-leading safety certification (PLe, Cat4), food hygiene safety certification from the US National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), and a high waterproof and dustproof rating (IP66), so we expect that they will be able to fully meet the needs of our customers,” and added, “Through close cooperation between the two companies, we will do our best to improve satisfaction so that Doosan Robotics' collaborative robot solutions can protect the safety and health of employees working in the kitchen.
