Doosan Robotics has joined the newly launched “K-Humanoid Alliance” to contribute to the development of Korea’s domestic robotics ecosystem.
On April 10, Doosan Robotics signed a memorandum of understanding during the official launch ceremony of the K-Humanoid Alliance, held at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul. The event was attended by Korea’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Dukgeun Ahn, Seoul National University President Honglim Yoo, Doosan Robotics CEO Kevin Kim, and around 300 other stakeholders.
This agreement marks Korea’s first step toward becoming a global leader in humanoid robotics. A total of over 50 organizations—including AI-focused companies, robot manufacturers, parts suppliers, end-user companies, government bodies, and support agencies—have signed on, with investments expected to exceed KRW 1 trillion by 2030.
As a participating robot manufacturer, Doosan Robotics plans to strengthen its core competitiveness and contribute to building a robust robotics ecosystem. The company also aims to enhance engagement from potential client companies by regularly participating in technology seminars, showcases, and competitions.
Following the rise of generative AI, attention is now turning toward “Physical AI”—AI embedded in physical hardware. The robotics sector, in particular, is drawing strategic investments from global tech giants. With the launch of this alliance, substantial government support is anticipated, and collaboration across industry, academia, and research is expected to maximize synergies.
Kevin Kim, CEO of Doosan Robotics, stated, “Doosan Robotics has been leading the adoption of collaborative robots across various industries and accelerating the development of AI-powered solutions. Through our participation in the K-Humanoid Alliance, we aim to elevate our technological capabilities and product offerings.” He added, “We will actively contribute to the advancement of Korea’s robotics industry and talent development, thereby strengthening national competitiveness.”
